Brigida Bochicchio graduated in Chemistry at University of Basilicata on 1995. She started the PhD in 2001 and in March 2003 she received the PhD in Chemistry both at the at University of Basilicata (Italy) and at University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France) (Italy-France co-tutelle program) with a dissertation on “Synthesis of and conformational studies on proteins of extracellular matrix". Supervisors: Professor Antonio Mario Tamburro and Professor Alain Jean Paul Alix. Since 2007, she is assistant professor at University of Basilicata where teaches Bioorganic Chemistry at the School of Chemistry,  and is co-author and corresponding author of 29 and  2 papers, respectively,  published in International Peer-Reviewed Journals. She gave three lectures as invited speaker at International Meetings and is co-author of 52 oral presentations. She was twice “Visiting Professor” at Universitè de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France).
The  research was mainly  focused on the synthesis and conformational studies of polypeptide sequences of elastomeric proteins such as elastin, lamprin, abductin, and resilin.
She contributed to  produce a unified model of molecular elasticity, proposed by Antonio Mario Tamburro,  based on the concept that not one but many interconverting structures are the common basis for the high entropy state responsible for the elasticity of the elastomeric proteins.
